Goryou Yuuto, Gt. (Argonavis)
Q1. Please tell us about your “fateful encounter” with Argonavis.
Yuuto: Argonavis is a band that came about from the meeting and gathering of the 5 of us at our university in Hakodate. There were many reasons leading up to our formation, but for us to have come together and set sail on this voyage… I believe that is fate. If not for 5 of us, we wouldn’t be able to continue our band activities, nor would we have been able to come this far. Of course, there are times when our opinions clash, but even still, we’re comrades who venture forth together - a family.
Q2. Could you share with us some people, items or experiences you would like to have a fateful encounter with in future, if any?
Yuuto: Wataru, who calls the shots when it comes to hotpot, said “When it comes to winter, of course we must have hotpot!” but we don’t have the most essential part of that, a clay pot, in our sharehouse. So right now, what I want most is a clay pot! In the past, I didn’t like hotpot, but… Having jingisukan with the Argonavis members, and coming together around a hotpot is fun! Kimchi hotpot seems like it’d keep us warm, but I bet Wataru will protest since he doesn’t do well with spicy food. Well, anything goes for me, though!
Q3. Have there been any “fateful encounters” around you?
Yuuto: We’re raising a puppy, Pon-chan, in our sharehouse now. He’s shockingly like Ren! I can’t even think of it as a coincidence, it feels like it’s definitely a fateful encounter. Like, the atmosphere around them and their expressions are the spitting image of each other. The other day, they both fell asleep on the sofa in the exact same position, with the exact same expression, and the members couldn’t help but take photos of them. See? Even the angles of their legs were exactly the same. Suppressing our laughter so we wouldn’t wake them was tough work.
Satozuka Kenta, Gt. (GYROAXIA)
Q1. Please tell us about your “fateful encounter” with Nayuta.
Kenta: I met our vocalist Nayuta in a livehouse in Sapporo. He was a no-name at the time, a second-year in high school. But when I heard his voice, it felt like I’d been hit by a bolt of lightning. To me, that was a fateful day. And so, I’m full of gratitude to experience the joy of being in a band alongside his singing,
Q2. Could you share with us some people, items or experiences you would like to have a fateful encounter with in future, if any?
Kenta: I think it would be… The connections we make with people. Through GYROAXIA’s activities, we’ve had many meetings with fans and people in the music industry. One meeting leads to another, and that’s how our band activities have connected to the present, and will continue to do so into the future. I would like to keep forming good bonds with others as GYROAXIA from now on.
Q3. Have there been any “fateful encounters” around you?
Kenta: The meeting between GYROAXIA and Argonavis… Rather than fate, perhaps “destined connection” would be a better description. We met Argonavis when they were picked by our agency to be our opening act at our live concert. Among their members, there’s a guitarist who was a former bandmate of mine, my younger brother who is living apart from me, and it seems that there’s something shared between our vocalists. We reunited in Tokyo even after leaving Sapporo, so it feels like fate had a hand in this.
